Unknown Monstrous Sea Creature Found on Indian Lands in Canada

The discovery of the body of a strange creature in Toronto (Canada), near a remote Indian reservation has launched an intensive discussion about the identity of the mammal, at the same time has raised concerns that his appearance was "a bad omen." 

People in the reservation Big Trout Lake, located in the northern province of Ontario and is accessible only by air, discovered earlier this month the body of a strange furry creature. The discovery was made by chance when two local nurses (Joseph Hick and Kelly Murrillo ) walking their dog, the animal suddenly jumped into the water of the lake and brought back the corpse of the creature. They took two pictures and left the body on the rocks. Later returning to retrieve it, the creature was no longer there. 

 

On the website of the community, belonging to indigenous ethnic oji-cree,   the thing was described as a creature about 30 centimeters in length and with "almost human face," which has aroused intense debate over whether it is an animal never before seen... or perhaps a kind of deformation after being submerged in the lake.

But some residents of Big Trout Lake believe that "the monster" is a strange mythical creature   and in the local language called  "omajinaakoos" ("The Ugly") and has not been seen for almost half a century. 

The photos posted on the website of Big Trout Lake show an elongated body, with brown hair and a pale face in looming elongated curved tusks. The lack of color of eyes adds a disturbing dimension to the image.

According to local media some of the indigenous elders of Big Trout Lake, say the animal is a messenger of bad news. 

"Nobody knows what it is but our ancestors called it 'omajinaakoos. It is almost never seen but when it occurs it is a bad omen. Something bad will happen according to our ancestors," said the elder on the website of the community.

The opinions of Internet users around the world is divided, some compare the creature with the Montauk Monster, a crypto-creature which  appeared in New York in 2008 but the identity of which was never conclusively proven.

Others do not hesitate to classify the animal as a fraud and assert that the morphology of the animal corresponds to that of a dead otter which has lost skin and eye color after lying under water for days. Unfortunately  DNA testing or a more detailed study of the body will never be possible.
